While we can perform attic mold testing when necessary, in reality when obvious visible mold is present in the attic, testing is almost never needed because the proper way to remove attic mold is the same regardless of what type of mold it is.

Causes of Attic Mold
Most attic mold problems are due to poor ventilation in the attic, allowing moisture to accumulate on the wood over time and eventually leading to mold growth. Sometimes we see attic mold caused by roof leaks too, but most of the time it is due to poor ventilation and not a roof leak.
Our Attic Mold Removal Process
It typically takes Moldman 1-2 days to successfully do attic mold remediation. Our attic mold removal process is as follows:
Contain the work area
Set HEPA air scrubber(s)
Treat all mold-impacted surfaces with hospital-grade antimicrobial cleaning agent
Stain-removal OR encapsulation with tinted antifungal stain-blocker
Final cleanup of work area

Moldman’s prices are average for the industry. Every attic is different, and bigger attics and/or more challenging attics (e.g. due to heightened safety issues) will cost more.
While each of our locations has their own prices, our typical attic prices are in the range of $1k-$2500, which as we noted is average for our industry.
If you get a substantially lower quote, this is almost always because they are inexperienced, and lack the certifications, expertise and proper mold insurance that Moldman carries. These things really matter with attics because they can be dangerous. Mold insurance is a speciality insurance that is expensive and harder to find. Why does this matter to you? Because if a contractor causes damages to your home or gets injured, their insurance may deny the claim if they are not carrying the right insurance. Further, you or your insurance may be liable if their insurance denies their claim.
